As we mentioned before both the IdeaCentre 520and IdeaCentre A340 look no different on paper. Both have exceptional design and are equipped with powerful hardware.

Let’s get into details to get a better idea about these AIOs and see which one of these two has the upper hand.

    Processor

Lenovo’s IdeaCentre 520 features the Intel Core i3-7020U processor that runs on the Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system. Its CPU offers the basic frequency of 2.3GHz which is quite amazing considering its price.

On the contrary, Lenovo IdeaCentre A340 features the Intel Celeron J4005 processor that also runs on the Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system. Its CPU delivers the basic frequency of 2.0GHz with a maximum turbo speed of 2.7GHz.

Both the computers offer solid CPU with rock-hard performance and can handle tough tasks. However, the IdeaCentre 520 delivers a slightly higher frequency than the IdeaCentre A340 and has an edge over here.

    Design

The main difference between Lenovo IdeaCentre 520 and Lenovo IdeaCentre A340 is their design.

The IdeaCentre 520 features a slim monitor with a razor-thin border and a sleek steel stand. The old-style stand gives it a traditional accent and saves space on your desk. This AIO PC comes with the dimensions (WxDxH) of 19.3-inch x 15.3-inch x 2.2-inch.

The IdeaCentre A340 features an eye-catching modern stand with a thin bezel display. Its sleek, stylish design makes it a perfect choice for your home and office. This AIO PC is slightly bigger than the other with 19.31-inch x 7.28-inch x 16.49-inch dimensions.

    Display

Both these PCs come with 21.5 inches wide FHD screens with the same 1920 x 1080 resolution. So, there is no difference in terms of pixels and screen size between these two AIO PCs. Although both come with different graphics cards, there is not much of a difference.

Lenovo IdeaCentre 520 features Intel HD 620 graphics, while Lenovo IdeaCentre A340 has an Intel UHD 600 Integrated graphics card. We tested both AIOs for display quality and find no lagging while playing 4K videos. However, if you like to play 3D games, you might experience slight lagging.

    Connectivity

There are three regular USB ports along with two HDMI ports and one SS USB port in Lenovo IdeaCentre 520 AIO PC. In addition to this, Lenovo also has included an additional USB port on the side. We find this side USB port helpful and those who frequently transfer data from PC will surely find it convenient.

The IdeaCentre A340 also comes with a fair share of USB ports to attach peripheral devices. There is a USB 3.0 port along with USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI Out and a 3-in-1 card reader.

    Performance

We tested both the AIO PCs for casual office tasks and ran heavy software in order to get the best of these PCs. There’s no big difference in terms of performance when it comes to casual office tasks, such as editing files, preparing presentations, etc.

Also, both IdeaCentre 520 and Lenovo IdeaCentre A340 can smoothly run media editing software, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe SD. These two are great All-in-One PCs to have in work and offices, but not for amid gaming. You would have to buy better graphics cards if you are a game enthusiast.

    Verdict

Overall, both IdeaCentre AIOs deliver smooth performance and have the right hardware. However, Lenovo IdeaCentre 520 is a better device when it comes to making a choice. It has Core i3 7th generation CPU that offers slightly better performance. In case you are looking for a stylish AIO and don’t need much power, go for Lenovo IdeaCentre A340. In the end, it all depends on your needs and preferences.
